Go into the filelist and go to Items -> ObjectComponents. Type in what you want in the search bar, (this gets as complex as Tree or something) don't be specific, if you search for ElywennTree you won't find it, just search for tree to narrow down the list and search for it manually. (if you are ripping some gear then carry on past this paragraph) for those of us ripping doodads.īecause gear is some complex you are better off manually searching for it, there are a few things in the name to help, like I think if you searched DK or Dungeon, items to do with Death knights and gear you find in dungeons appear. When WMV opens up you will see on the left the search bar (if you want to search gear but it doesn't appear go into file -> discovery item) search for the doodad you want! it is as simple as that. So, start by opening up WMV and find the model you want!. This is how I rip gear for character models.
If you want to learn how to do this, read on my brave adventurers! It also includes, Helmets, Shoulders, One-Handed Swords Axes Maces, Two-Handed Swords Axes Maces, Polearms, Wands, Staves, Daggers, Shields and any other gear in the game. This includes, Trees, Rocks, Bridges, Flowers, Walls, Small Buildings (ones you can't enter), Lampposts, Benches and every other doodad ingame you can think of. So, this will teach you how to succesfully rip unanimated models from WoW! NOTE: newer versions of WMV don't have the export to milkshape functionality at the moment.
